Froglife organise a wide range of events throughout the year to suit people of all ages, abilities and levels of experience. Here you will find a list of our planned events and activities along with all the information you should need. Come Join Froglife and Dundee City Council and help us add some native plants to the new ponds added to the park in October 2017.
These ponds are now ready for some wildlife to colonise as spring approaches but are in need of plants so they can offer a great place for animals.
No experience necessary and all tools provided. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring suitable outdoor clothing and wellies are highly recommended (waders useful if you have them!). Some light refreshments will be on hand but please bring lunch if you need it.

Join Froglife for an amphibian survey training evening at Irchester Country Park on the 26th of April! Be sure to park in the top car park as the gates to the lower car park will be locked at 5pm! The Session starts at 7:30pm.
Join Froglife for a Reptile Survey Training session at Cross Guns Pumping Station near Thorney Toll. Learn how to survey for reptiles and how to identify any we may find!
Meet at the old pumping station museum at 3:30pm. Coming from Peterborough, turn right at Thorney Car Sales, Thorney Toll and continue to the end of the road.

Join Froglife for a torch-light amphibian survey of the ponds at Barnwell Country Park as well as some pond dipping! Learn how to find amphibians, when to look for them and how to identify any we may find! High-powered surveying torches will be provided but numbers are limited so please bring your own torch if you have one. Please wear appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing.
Meet in the car park at 8pm on Thursday the 3rd of March
Scottish Dragon Finder are holding an evening amphibian survey training event where you can learn how to identify our native amphibian species undertaking 3 methods of pond survey. This session is based entirely outdoors and gives you the opportunity to get hands on and learn about netting, egg-searching and torching techniques. No previous knowledge / experience is required but booking is essential. Wellies and headtorch highly recommended but may be borrowed, please mention when contacting if you need either of these.
Come and see the finished Mapestry as it visits Sywell Country Park!
It will be on display above the indoor children’s play area.

Looking for something to do on Saturday 19th May? Come and help out on a volunteer day!
From 10am – 3pm at Worts Meadow Local Nature Reserve in Landbeach, Cambridgeshire, opposite the village hall car park. Everyone welcome, for as long or short a time as you can offer!
Learn how to manage the site for wildlife during a range of practical tasks. This is also a chance to ask any amphibian and reptile related questions you may have.
Wear wellies/walking boots and bring gardening gloves if you have your own.
